Well, it seems that it's time drop my (sort of) monthly update. The month of May has been closer to a normal vacation for me than anything else - I spent a week at my parent's place visiting and enjoying being in the country for a while. Aside from that I've been just enjoying being at home and being a bit of a land-person doing normal things like grabbing coffee and walking around the city, watching outdoor shows, going to restaurants and patios with friends, and even just going grocery shopping.
It's been a great vacation but also a financially taxing one with a week trip to Walt Disney World with Blair and Sam, to a heavier than usual tax period, and also a weekend trip to Virginia Beach/Norfolk for Andy and Alex's wedding. I would have liked to have spent a little more time in Virginia but it just wasn't financially viable but I'm already looking forward to my next break which likely won't be until next year.
Along those lines, my next break comes after my next contract, which begins in a few days. On the evening of the 5th I'll fly to Vancouver and join the MS Noordam on the 6th for six months. Most of that time will be spent doing one of my favourite itineraries, Alaska's Inside Passage from Vancouver and the tail end of it will be a repositioning cruise to Australia and New Zealand. I'm looking forward to getting back to work, seeing some familiar faces, being in Alaska for the summer, and getting some more money stashed away.
