They say that travel is good for the soul, that it's good for making you a better person, and that it's the mortal enemy of ignorance. For the most part I would agree with that statement but to that advice, I would add that if you're planning on enlightening yourself through travel, it might be a good idea to pace yourself a little bit.
Starting last Sunday, I finished a six month long contract at sea traveling from Canada and New England through the Caribbean flew home from Fort Lauderdale and then roughly seven hours later flew back to Orlando for a vacation.
Don't get me wrong, the vacation was excellent, the scenery was good, the company was mediocre (haha, sorry Sam and Blair), but the vacation will require a vacation in and of itself just to get back to feeling normal again. Luckily for me I do have the opportunity to take a vacation after the vacation for the next couple of weeks; time that my body, along with the rest of me, will gratefully soak up.
So while travel is likely good for the soul, if you don't pace yourself properly, it can really mess up your body and mind.
