It's not very often that the entire immediate family gets the opportunity to gather. My brother and I see each other fairly often as we live in the same city and, in fact, the same building. Our sister lives in St. John's, Newfoundland (not to be confused with St. John, New Brunswick) and our parents live near Gananoque, Ontario.
As a matter of fact I don't think it's happened this year until today. Our sister flew into Ottawa's MacDonald-Cartier International Airport where our parents drove in to pick her up. I met with mom and dad earlier in the afternoon while Missy was in the air and Nick was still at work, so I got my catch up time before the others which was good.
We managed to pick up my sister from the airport and get back downtown without much traffic which was surprising but welcome. A quick tour of the building for my sister, who had not yet seen it, and for my parents, who saw it a couple of months ago in a quite different state. Dinner at the local Pho restaurant ended the evening; it was good to meet up for the evening with the family.
