Do you remember that time not too long ago where I took all that time to outline my photography gear? Well, things have changed somewhat recently... after writing that article I really started thinking about my gear and my new situation where I'm less likely to be rooted on a specific ship for months at a time and more likely to be hopping from ship to ship. This got me pretty bummed out about having to carry around all that weight because, believe me, all that gear is not light; also, it takes up a log of space when I've now got to think about traveling lighter.
By now you've figured out where I'm going with this: I took all of my camera gear down to the local camera store and sold it to pay for my new camera. I'm now the proud owner of a Fujifilm X100S and my shoulder is very happy about the change. I'm sure I'll have some photos to share with you as the weeks go on and I am, again, traveling so keep checking back here or here.
So you remember that time I took an entire post to tell you all about my photography gear? Yeah, that was a lie.
Update: I'm not alone! I found another photographer who has ditched the DSLR life for the mirror less ways as well - his article on the transition is here if you want to read it.
