Recently I've spoken with a few photographers who've asked me what I shoot with and I thought this would be a great opportunity to share this information with you. So here it is:
- Nikon [D700][d700]
- Nikon 50mm f/1.4
- Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8
- Nikon 70-300mm f/3.5-5.6
- Nikon SB-800 speed light
- Lexar FireWire 800 Compact Flash card reader
- Lacie 1TB Hard Drive
- X-Rite Color Checker Passport
I also carry around a few other bits and bobs with my camera gear: remote shutter release, variety of lens cloths, dust brush, circular polarizers for all my lenses, UV filters for all my lenses, and an arctic butterfly.
This all being said, I've always been a firm believer that the camera doesn't make the photographer. If I gave someone like Peter Hurley an iPhone, he would still take way better photographs than I could with my camera. So, if you're shooting with some older gear, don't worry about it, you can still make amazing photographs.
