This is how you're going to reach out and get a hold of me unless you already know me, in which case... why are you here, just pick up the phone.

Just a little corner of the interwebz where I occasionally jot down a thought or two. Why do I do it? Partly to communicate in some way with you, the reader, and partly because it's some sad way of leaving a legacy of some kind I guess.

A friend of mine pointed me in the direction of this post and I thought I would put some things into perspective with regards to the dreaded Norovirus on Cruise Ships. The original article is here - the stats I wanted to pass on to you from the CDC via this article are as follows:

The average number of people who get Norovirus (annually) in the United States is 19-21 MILLION.
The number of people (passengers AND crew) who got sick on cruise ships in 2013…2,315. Once again, 2, 315!
— Jeffrey Solomon

While it's terrible to have (trust me) and while it's probably one of the last things you want to have whilst on vacation - it's hardly uncommon elsewhere in the world. People need to stop referring to this as the cruise ship virus when it's just as possible to contract it from hospitals or even subways.

What does this mean for people? Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Good hygiene is key in fending off the virus so just do it; wash your hands.
