For everyone of us who travels for a living there are things that make coming home special. That's not to say that there aren't similar things for people who go on vacation of a week or two a year but with all due respect to those people, it's just not the same.
There's the usual things that might overlap with the aforementioned people such as a coffee and a doughnut from Tim Hortons or a Poutine and for others it's doing your laundry at your own home. For me it's coming to this place, the Socialist Pig and having a proper coffee and one of their fantastic lunch dishes which, today, was fish tacos.
The owner, Shannon, is great and can usually be found at the counter made up of books. That's right, the counter is made of books! How unique is that? Her coffees are some of the best I've had outside of Italy and the atmosphere is great.
