This story was brought to my attention earlier this evening by my brother; the story is about a 14-year old Iowa boy who shot his mother. For the full story read it here.
Are video games the cause of this terrible incident, was there a predisposition towards violence in this kid, or is it the other way around? Are people who are already inherently violent (if anyone is truly inherently violent) more likely to play video games?
Nick pointed out that part of the issue should lie with the parents; he seemed to think his mother would simply be alright after having been shot multiple times. I guess children need to learn that in real life, there are no respawns.
