One of the blogs I've taken to reading while on this vacation has been MacSparky which is, by the way, a pretty awesome read. They have a fairly regular feature that comes up in which people show you their home screens on their iDevices. Now, this usually has to do with their iPhones but since I have my iPad next to me right now I'll be focusing on that and answering some of the same questions that they ask their interviewees since I highly doubt I'm very high on their list of people to feature. Without further ado, here's my iPad:
What're some of my favourite apps?
Tweetbot. This is my go-to app for staying up to date on everyone I follow on twitter - I've tried a few twitter clients from the official Twitter app to Twitteriffic and this is the one, I find, works the best.
1Password. What can I say, this app is invaluable. If you don't already have it, you need to stop reading and go get it right now.
500px. I've recently started using 500px to host my portfolio; I'm also testing it as a replacement for Flickr which I haven't been back to in quite some time. I don't see it replacing my photography website anytime soon but they do make it really easy to setup and keep a portfolio updated.
Zite. It's my morning paper replacement and it does a pretty good job of it; I use it every day.
Amplitube. As a guitar player who travels quite a bit it's not feasible to haul around an amplifier of my choosing along with an effect processor. Enter Amplitube; I connect my guitar to this baby and I have a solid processor and amp modeller.
What app is your guilty pleasure?
It tends to vary but these days I would have to say it's Bejeweled Blitz. If you want to kill a few minutes only to check the time again two hours later, this is the game for you. Consider yourself warned!
How many times a day do you use your iPhone/iPad?
My usage changes depending on what I need to accomplish during the day but generally I would say four or five times a day; sometimes for gaming, sometimes for communicating, sometimes for business.
What app is not available yet for the iPad that you would like to see?
Hands down this has to be Fantastical. I use it on my iPhone, on my iMac and on my MacBook Pro - I absolutely love it and while I realize that I can use the iPhone version on my iPad I'm a bit of a resolution snob. You guys at Flexibits listening? I'm not above bribery!
If you guys have enjoyed this little mock interview then I would suggest going over to check out the real deal here at MacSparky.
