I spent the day today touring around some friends who were in town. Brad is a Lighting Technician with us at Holland America Line, his brother Rob and Brad's wife Natacha. Brad is American and his wife is Canadian, they are in town for their interview with US immigration. Wait, they are in Montreal for an interview with US immigration? What? I know, or rather, I don't know but I'm not going to ask either.
Anyway, we went for lunch at Ruben's Deli where the guys had Montreal Smoked Meat for the first time. I can hear you crying foul now because I didn't take them to Schwartz Deli and the truth is that we didn't have an hour to stand around for a table. Natacha had a pretty epically sized cobb salad and I had a bagel and lox with cream cheese.
Because the day was pretty hot we didn't get the chance to see everything I had wanted to show them but I got them to the old port before we ran out of steam. After that it was back up to Ste. Catherine's where they went off to see Horrible Bosses and I ran a few errands before heading home. All in all a good day - maybe I would be a tour guide in another life.
